WHY SHOULD I BE BAPTIZED
Baptism is one way we identify with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Colossians 2:12 says, " For when you were baptized, you were buried with Christ, and in baptism, you were also raised with Christ". Baptism by immersion in water is symbolic of the death of Jesus Christ, and the coming up out of the water identifies with the resurrection to a new life. Romans 6:4 “We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” Romans 6:4
We get baptized because we not only see Jesus get baptized by John the Baptist but because he also commands us to do the same. In Matthew 28:19-20, "“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20

AT OPEN HEAVENS DO YOU BAPTIZE INFANTS
At Open Heavens we do not baptize infants as we believe that infants are not capable of making a conscious decision to accept Jesus as their lord and personal savior
In the book of Acts 2:41 and Acts 8:12, we see evidence of when an individual received Jesus Christ as his personal savior then baptism followed. At Open Heavens we believe that baptism does not impart salvation to a child and that salvation comes only through faith in Jesus Christ.
